PICK AND CARRY CRANE
A Pick and Carry Crane is a type of mobile crane that is specifically designed to lift and move (or “pick and carry”) heavy loads while traveling on a job site. Unlike traditional mobile cranes, which require outriggers for stability when lifting, a pick and carry crane is able to lift loads while remaining in a stable, mobile position, without the need for additional stabilization. These cranes are typically compact, maneuverable, and suited for lifting and transporting materials across short distances on construction sites, factories, and other environments.
Key Features of a Pick and Carry Crane:
- Compact Design: Pick and carry cranes are usually smaller and more compact than other cranes, making them ideal for use in tight spaces or areas with limited room for maneuvering.
- All-Terrain Capability: These cranes are designed to work in a variety of terrains, including rough or uneven ground. Some pick and carry cranes have wheels or tracks (depending on the model) that allow them to move easily across construction sites.
- Lift and Transport: The main feature of a pick and carry crane is its ability to pick up a load, carry it over a distance, and then place it down again without needing to set up outriggers or additional stabilization.
- Maneuverability: These cranes are typically highly maneuverable, allowing operators to navigate through narrow or crowded job sites. They often have a smaller turning radius compared to other types of cranes.
- Lifting Capacity: While pick and carry cranes are not as heavy-duty as larger cranes, they are still capable of lifting and carrying loads in the range of several tons, depending on the model.
