BOOM LIFT
A boom lift is a type of aerial work platform (AWP) used to provide temporary access to elevated work areas. It consists of a platform or bucket attached to the end of a hydraulic arm (the “boom”), which can be extended and elevated to reach heights that would otherwise be difficult to access using ladders or scaffolding.
There are two main types of boom lifts:
- Telescoping Boom Lift: This type has a straight arm that extends and retracts to reach greater heights, often used for vertical access in areas with less horizontal space.
- Articulating Boom Lift: This lift has a jointed or hinged arm, which allows for more flexible movement, allowing the platform to reach around obstacles or work in tight spaces. It can move both vertically and horizontally.
Boom lifts are commonly used in construction, maintenance, and industrial work where workers need to perform tasks at height, such as cleaning windows, repairing structures, or installing equipment. They come in various sizes, with different weight capacities and height ranges, making them versatile for various tasks.
